Funky Friday

Ecstatic 5 Rhythms Monthly in Hastings

Fridays just got better

Once a month, we gather at The Stade Hall in Hastings for an evening of ecstatic 5Rhythms movement. This is not a class with steps to learn or a performance to perfect. It is an invitation to arrive exactly as you are — and let your body do the rest.

Emma brings 5Rhythms Movement themes to explore, along with her guidance and teachings. We will bring curiosity and fascination into our dance. Experimental, opening the language of movement to help describe inner feelings that words cannot. Beyond intellect.

What to expect

We begin by tuning in — warming up in whatever way your body needs that evening. From there, Emma guides you through the five rhythms: Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical and Stillness. Each one a different quality of energy. Each one opening into the next.

The music carries you. The room holds you. The movement takes you somewhere beyond words.

This is experimental, embodied dance — a space to explore the language your body speaks when your thinking mind steps aside. Whether you arrive buzzing from the week or heavy with it, there is room for all of it here.

No experience necessary. No partner needed. Just bring yourself.

"Emma, That was just superb and felt like experiencing a deeper level of 5R.

Felt so connected with you and sharing such delicate magic - it really felt like being in the same room, the energy was just phenomenal.

Love love loved it."

"A joy to participate in this improvisation led by Emma Leech.

Starting to create from silence, from the impact of the body in space in relation to others with the world. A tool, a research I can't live without as an actress and as a human being.

Thank you Emma for the deep teachings."
